User Gallery
Would it be possible to have a user gallery in this forum please? I think it would be inspiring for all of us and of course for "potential" QCAD users.

What do people use QCAD for?
Hello everyone
I`m interested to know what others use QCAD for, I`m not encouraging advertising here! I thought it would be good to get some feedback about the use of QCAD (I`m sure it will provide interesting reading).
I personally use QCAD quite a bit for Laser cutting.
Regards

How to set a cut file for engraving letters/number details
Hi again Bob If you just want to add a letter or a number to your parts, "and I`m guessing they would be for reference right"? The easiest way to do this would be to set a new layer and on this layer draw the letters/numbers where you want them and send this layer to the printer and run the job as a...

Hi bob7450 Generally you can work on 2 layers yes! Set one layer for all your cutting (lineweight 0.00 or similar) and the other layer will be your text etc. When you send to print (on the Laser Cutter) you can either send as one combined job (as above) or send as 2 seperate jobs, one job for cuttin...

Hi Z.K.
What operating system are you running QCAD on?
What version are you running 2 or 3 beta?
I`m running on Win 7 64 bit and no problems with move command with text or any entity in version 2 or 3 beta.
regards
Clive

Great program
Hi Andrew/Everyone
I love this CAD program -had a little play with it first then the next day I bought it. Its exactly what I need, I`ve also downloaded Version 3 Beta and its all looking very good.
I did my first basic drawing and even cut it out on an Epilog laser cutter!
Regards
