Create text with opaque background

Post by digidocs » Mon Jan 08, 2024 6:52 am

I'd like to add text to a drawing so that the text background is opaque. Something like the example below... Is this possible with QCAD?
Thank you!

Not right out the box. :(

One can add a solid filled hatch in the background color.
You need to set the text & border drawing order higher than the hatch drawing order and that higher than what must be blended out.

It can be problematic with 'Prevent white on white / black on black display'.
Disabling for printing or a slightly different hatch color might then be an option.

Remark that these are not associated entities.
One can group the hatch, the border and the text in a Block, re-inserted as a single Block-Reference.

Thank you for the help!

I had hoped there would be an automatic way, but at least the capability is there. Have a good one.
