Is it possible to convert ttf font to single line font or to single line polyline?
For engraving purposes.

You can explode text that was created using a TrueType font using Modify > Explode. This results in splines and possibly lines or arcs.
If this does not answer your question, please elaborate what you are trying to achieve and what (other) software you are using.

To outer contours is explained by Andrew.
Or your CNC driver supports a CAM to fill those with pocketing cutter paths like mine.
Or fill that with offsets using Offset (OQ) or with a reasonable dense hatch exploded to line art.
Or use a third party tool.
Remark that the TTF outer contours are the limits of the shape to fill.
In vector art, disregarding any pen size or any cutter size.
For the method with a hatch and milling on shape then anticipate for the cutter radius with an inner offset of the TTF art.
Main down-side: Hard inner corners can not be cleared.
The central line off TTF art is known as a skeleton:

This is not supported by QCAD.
For the record:
- This is not 2D, this is V-Carving where the depth in Z defines the width of the cut.
=> Hard inner corners can be cleared at the surface up to a point humans can't distinguish any rounding.
- There are only a few free tools out there that do a throw at it.
