Hello, I have Qcad Pro - windows 10
Please can you explain how and when and how I might find Lock Snap to be most helpful
I use the line tool - 'line from 2 points' and find when the drawing becomes larger, snapping to intersections, middle or end sometimes upcoming the drawn line
is not at right angles (straight)
Thanks for any advice

Re: Lock Snap - SQ
Hi,
Lock Snap (SQ) will not automatically fix the encountered issues.
It keeps the current snap mode even when a new tool is started.
See: https://www.ribbonsoft.com/doc/qcad/lat ... ap_en.html
It will also keep auto snapping active when that was active.
Selecting snapping points in auto mode may not be the best solution in all cases.
Especially when certain snap-points are near or very near to each other, for example think of grid points near an endpoint, a middle, ....
In those cases one can select a better suited dedicated snapping mode like intersection, middle, center and so on.
When tools require you to indicate (enter) a coordinate like LI then by default the CAD Tools toolbar will display the Snapping tools.
One can swap the snapping mode at any point while using QCAD drawing tools.
Snapping to something does not automatically ensure straight angled lines.
The line is drawn from one point to another and that may have any angle.
Restrict orthogonal can be done with Alt+select point or one of the Snap restrict methods.

CVH
