I want to change straight or curved lines to "fingered" edges, with different "fingered_edge" linetypes to define finger length and depth.
Also a "fingered" line of holes, with different "fingered_hole" linetypes to define length and width, to match edge fingers and material thickness.
I am using Qcadcam 3.15.5 runing on Debian Linux current, but expect this would be a common fingered.lin file.
This would assist assembling multiple laser cut pieces securely.
create new "fingered" linetype

Re: create new "fingered" linetype
Hi,
because there is a lot of room to interpret your question please post an example drawing (dxf/dwg) or a screenshot / picture to see what you try to achieve. That will bring us in fast track on the same page ... Thanks!

Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro

Re: create new "fingered" linetype
I have to agree with Husky.
Googling "fingered linetype" comes up empty in relation with CAD or CAD/CAM ...
Are these custom linetypes intended for the CAM source or for CAM entities?
Your source is preferably in 2D and then depth or material thickness has no meaning.
One can not control the linetype of generated art by QCAD/CAM in a simple manner.
By layer would be feasible but that is a unique type per CAM layer disregarding depth in Z.
May I add that QCAD/CAM 3.15.5 is a 7 to 8 years old version.
Meanwhile many small to major bugs are fixed and many additional features are added.

And how does this look like?Ushavilash wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 5:11 pmYou can use parameter for finger length, depth, hole length, and width to match material thickness.
