Manage multilayers files.

Post by Luizinho » Tue Mar 18, 2014 7:38 pm

Hello,

I´m new with QCAD and I´m running the trial version. Just checking some features.

I´m working with a *.dwg file wich contains a lot of layers (as much as up to 90).

Is there any option to make a layer multiselection instead of removing them one after another???.

I´m been searching in the forum but didn´t find any answer to this problem.

Thanks beforehand everyone.

Força!!

Lz.

No there is no such function in QCAD.

However, you can delete the entities on those layers first and then remove all empty layers at once using the tool:
Layers > Purge Unused Layers

Hi Luizinho and welcome

This is a problem I know all too well, one trick I sometimes do when I receive such files is to first turn off all the layers then only turn on the layers you want to keep (this could also be a chore in itself :x ), after this, select everything in the visible layers and copy them (Main Menu - Edit - Copy), then start a new drawing and paste everything in, this should also preserve the layers you wanted to keep ... but without all the unwanted layers.
For the best support please state your operating system, QCAD version and add any supporting DXF/DWG files, screenshots etc...

Ok, thank you!!

I asked just in case. I had figured out it wasn´t possible.

Clive, I followed your advice in this particular case.

Good morning and have a nice day!

There is already an existing feature request for this, if you add a vote for it, this will help the request get noticed and hopefully be considred for implementation
You will need to register on the Bugtracker (which is also used to add feature requests).
