Scaling with the Mousepointer ....

First of all - I don't know what is the correct name for this function.

I like to scale something regarding values which I can determine with chosen points directly taken in my drawing. The scale dialog will give me this option with the mouse pointer switch.

Here now my question:
Right now I have to determine three points to give this tool all information for the scale factor. BUT I have to rearrange my drawing or have to work with Construction lines to have a situation what is useful for this task.

I would prefer to have the possibility to pick point one and two for the first value and then to be free to pick an independent point three and four for the second value.
Is that possible to do? It would make my life much easier ... 8)

Hi Husky
I agree with everything you say, for me I don't really use the mouse pointer method (I don't know what its called either), maybe Andrew can elaborate and give us some examples where this may be useful!

I think Andrew has put this option in here for some advanced future use ... maybe when we start to design 'Space age' travel tubes

Sure.. Consider the rectangle below. It has to be scaled up, so the right side aligns with the vertical line. 1 is the center of scaling (1st reference point), 2 and 3 are the reference points chosen after the scale dialog is shown.
