Hi,
Can someone please tell me, what is the distinction between Drawing units and Paper units? How are they used?
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Drawing unit vs Paper unit
The paper unit is only used to enter or display the paper size and print margins in the drawing preferences.
The drawing unit is used when printing a drawing to scale.

Re: Drawing unit vs Paper unit
In addition, when drawing in Model space (main drawing area) the best practice is to always draw in real scale, whether this be a small object like a cog in a watch mechanism or something much bigger like for example a ship. We can set the drawing unit to match for what we need in these circumstances, in our two examples we may want to choose Millimeters for the smaller watch mechanism and choose Meters for our ship design.
If we need to print out our designs we then have the option as Andrew says to set the drawing unit again for printing something out to scale, set the drawing unit correctly for the actual drafting part, so at least when checking or changing something we are working in the unit size we actually need in 'real life'.

For the best support please state your operating system, QCAD version and add any supporting DXF/DWG files, screenshots etc...
