a feature similar to AutoCAD imageattach for digitalization

Post by kcleung » Mon Dec 22, 2014 8:42 am

In AutoCAD, one can use the imageattach function to import and display scanned documents on the screen as a background, and the user can further rotate the scanned image to adjust. Then the user can use ordinary commands such as line, arg, polygon etc to recreate the features on the scanned image.

Does QCAD have similar function? If so, how can I use it?

Yes QCAD has a similar function. It's called "Insert Bitmap".

One of multiple ways to use the tool is over the menu. You will find it below: Draw / Insert Bitmap

This tool will ask you for the bitmap location and filename (as usually) and then an Option Bar will appear to give you the possibility to set the size and rotation before you insert it to the drawing.

If you need to change the scale or rotation - it's always possible to change this also afterwards.

I recommend to put all pics on a separate layer.
Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.
