Is there a setting you can apply to a drawing that will automatically turn any rectangle you draw into a polyline rather than four separate lines

But - you can use the "Create from Segments" tool (below Draw, Polyline). Much faster than the single segment selection.

Hi Jules
If you are creating Rectangles using the 'Shape Tools' there is a check-box you can tick to 'Create Polyline' from all the rectangles you draw using this tool!
