Another DWG embedded in the current DWG

Post by wmcheng » Fri Jun 05, 2015 3:28 am

Dear all, I got a CD which contains several DWG (DWG R2010) files from my friend. One of them is the main file and the other files should be embedded in the main file. When I opened this file with Autodesk DWG TrueView 2016, the main file and embedded parts can be clearly displayed on the screen. However, if I opened the main file with QCAD, all the embedded parts would be skipped. Would anyone like to tell me what I should do? Thank you very much.

Operating System: Windows 7 SP1 Pro. (64-bit) or Linux Mint 17.1 KDE (32-bit)
QCAD: Ver. 3.9.4.0

This drawing likely uses XRefs to reference the external drawings. XRefs are currently not supported by QCAD.

Will this feature be supported in the near future?

That depends on various factors such as my personal work load, interest by users in this feature, votes in the task tracker:

XRefs are also a relatively complex feature, so 'near future' is unlikely.
