How do I merge two georeferenced dxf files?
I collect GIS data from GPS and create a dxf basemap. Sometimes when I go back to a site, some of the features, such as sand piles, sheds, etc will have moved and I need to be able to map their new position and combine this new information into the old dxf basemap that has all the things in it that have not moved, like chain link fences, wellheads, large buildings. So far I've found I can copy one file into another but it will not snap onto the same coordinates as the original file, even though both files have the same coordinate system. The best I can do is move the new file around until it looks about right on the old basemap. I'm sure there is a better way.

You can use Edit > Copy with Reference and choose for example 0,0 as reference, then paste and enter 0,0 as target point.
Or File > Import and choose 0,0 as target point.
Or File > Import and choose 0,0 as target point.
