Hello
I work on products made in the EU, and sold in the US...
All plans have two versions: Metric and Imperial.
Currently I've got two dimension sets, one of which is scaled to 2.54 + "cm".
This requires two sets of plans.
Is there a way get the dimension tool to write both?
My dreamworld includes a tool that has one unit on top of the line, one on bottom.
Or is there a more elegant way to do this?
My dreamworld also includes a search of the QCAD forums some time ago,
turning up a post that said "no can do."
I'm currently trying to dig through the code, but its been two decades since
any programming by me, and never in java.
Thanks
onodric

Re: Dual dimension workaround
No - currently there is no tool available in QCAD to do both units at the same time. But we have already the possibility to scale a dim during the creation process ...onodric wrote:Is there a way get the dimension tool to write both?
Dim / Optionbar
I imagine a couple differed workarounds but the question is always what is most practical to work in the workshop with those drawings. Currently - as already mentioned - we don't have a tool for this task but based on your "dreamworld" this could be one of many solutions ...onodric wrote:My dreamworld includes a tool that has one unit on top of the line, one on bottom.
Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.

Re: Dual dimension workaround
I can confirm that dual (or 'alternate' units) for dimensions are currently not supported by QCAD.
I've created a feature request at:

Thank you so much for prompt replies!
Husky: This is basically what I've been doing so far, but the video showed me some better methodology. Thank you!
Andrew: as always, you are on top of everything.
I'm still going to keep hammering the cranium with scripting practice...
