Hatch Problem
Hello,
Hope everyone had a pleasant holidays.
Could someone explain to me why changing
the name of a hatch pattern, START to Wayne,
prevents it from showing in the list. The STAR
hatch pattern shows but when I change the file
name and the header in the file to match, Wayne
does not show in the list. Just curious why are the
names in the list capitalize?

Re: Hatch Problem
Please attach relevant files (DXF files, PAT files, screenshots, etc), so we can help you efficiently, thanks.
Re: Hatch Problem
Hello,
Here are the files you requested.
I am unable to send the dxf file with
the waynet.pat displayed.
Thanks for looking at this.

Re: Hatch Problem
P.S.
The waynet.pat file is the same as stars.pat
with only the name change.

Re: Hatch Problem
This seems to work fine here:
1. Copy file waynet.pat into patterns/imperial
2. Load file TestHatch.dxf
3. Use property editor to change pattern to "WAYNET"
4. Pattern is set to WAYNET
5. Save file
6. Close File
7. Load file
8. Pattern is still set to WAYNET
Can you elaborate on the problem you are experiencing (which step from above procedure fails)?

Re: Hatch Problem
Hello,
I do not see waynet.pat in the list of the property editor.
I also do not see it in the list if I use the Hatch icon.
I verified that waynet.pat is in both pattern/imperial
and metric.
Wayne
P.S. Strange, both you and Husky can see it.
Is there anything else I can try? I only
change the name.

Re: Hatch Problem
OK, I deleted the rectangle with the stars.pat and started over.
I created a rectangle then i selected the hatch icon. I still did
not see waynet.pat in the list, so i selected the STARS pattern.
It filled the rectangle with the pattern. The property editor
did not show that I had a hatch pattern until I deselected everything
and reselected it.

Re: Hatch Problem
Using the hatch tool will not change the previous chosen selection. After the hatch is created you have still the "old" selection (excluded hatch!) and that is what you can see in the Property Editorwayne67 wrote:... It filled the rectangle with the pattern. The property editor

What happens if you delete this stars.pat - will it also disappear in the QCAD Pattern List?wayne67 wrote:... I still did not see waynet.pat in the list, so i selected the STARS pattern.
(If you like to test this scenario make sure you have a backup of the stars.pat and you need to restart QCAD)

Re: Hatch Problem
Hello Husky,
I deleted the stars.pat and the pattern did not
show in the list. I then took waynet.pat and change
that back to starts.pat and it showed up in the list.

Re: Hatch Problem
I guess there is no resolution as to why
I can not see pat files that I make.
Could someone send me a pat file they
made from scratch.
Thanks Wayne
