QCAD pro v 3.12.4 on Windows 7 professional.
When making a selection of objects, I like to be able to "see" what I'm selecting (naturally!). Up until recently have been able to do this, but, for some reason, the selection box now turns black and renders the underlying objects temporarily invisible. I don't now if I've inadvertently changed something or what, but I can't find a way to revert to the transparent selection box that I had previously. I have tried changing the selection box fill colour in application preferences though this does not appear to have a transparent option. Help, please!

Re: Selection box transparency
Transparency is called 'Alpha Channel' in the Windows color picker dialog:
Re: Selection box transparency
Got it! Somehow I've altered this without realising it. Thanks for sorting me out. Again!

Re: [solved] Selection box transparency
Oh, no it wasn't! This feature "came back" when I changed my computer to a 64-bit Windows 7 Pro one. I've since discovered that it occurs when Print Preview is selected. In Normal view, the selected area stays transparent. Not sure whether it's supposed to work like that or it's a bug?
Anyway, now that I know what causes it, it ceases to be a problem and is relegated to "quirk" status.

Re: [solved] Selection box transparency
Is this a reproducible problem? Let's say you start a new, empty drawing, switch to print preview, select an area, the area is shown as opaque instead of transparent? Thanks.
Re: [solved] Selection box transparency
Yes. Absolutely. Start a new drawing with no objects in it. Left-click and drag to produce a selection area and the contents of the selection rectangle is "normal" transparent colour. Select print preview mode and repeat the above and the selection rectangle is filled with black. I hope I've described that satisfactorily.
Just tried it with objects drawn prior to selection and same happens.

Re: [solved] Selection box transparency
OK, thanks. Is that with QCAD version 3.14?
Re: [solved] Selection box transparency
Yes. Though, when I first raised this, it was with an earlier version. You could find which one from the date of the first post as I always update to the latest offering immediately it becomes available.
