What can I do with "Auto close polylines"

Post by Husky » Sat Jan 30, 2016 10:14 am

Hi,

I played around with this new tool "Auto close polylines" - but honestly - till now - I haven't understood how it works ...

If I have an open polyline - select this polylines - and use this tool I get prompt the message "X polyline(s) closed". Great - but the Property manager tells me it is still an open polyline and I can't see any changes in my drawing - what happens and what is the benefit of this new tool?

If you're not planning to process DXF files further, it's probably not very useful. Anyway, here's the online reference manual for the tool:

This tool, I think actually helps when laser cutting.

I've noticed less little points when etching surfaces!

I'll need to have a better test and see  .

Ok - understood. From time to time I need to prepare dxf's for cnc milling / engraving etc. but right now I don't see a benefit for me to covert geometrically closed polylines into a logically closed polyline - maybe something what i need later ...

Thanks for explanation!
