QCAD 3.12 Windows 10 Is there a way to make the grid dots larger in size?

No, but you can change their color which will make them more visible. By default, grid dots are gray and 25% transparent. You can for example change that to white (on a black background):
Edit > Application Preferences > Graphics View > Colors > Grid
