[solved] import "SketchUp Layout" dwg or dxf file into QCAD

Post by Paolo512 » Fri May 13, 2016 6:15 am

Hi All,

I'm new to the product and forum, sorry if this has been answered, but I can't locate it. I'm trying import a "SketchUp Layout" dwg or dxf file into QCAD.

- If I "import" the dwg or dxf file, I don't see any of the file or layers, etc.
- If I "open" the dwg or dxf file I see the layers, but none of the drawing.

I'm on a MAC, running OS X 10.10.2
I'm running the trial version of SketchUp Pro 2106 Layout, V16.1.1451
I'm running the trial version of QCAD: Version: 3.14.3.0 (3.14.3), Internet: QCAD.org, Build Date: Apr 26 2016, Revision: c4f0833

Thank you!
Paolo

Hi Andrew, Thanks for the response - think I figured it out.. I tried exporting the "model space" instead of the "paper space" from SketchUp and I was able to see that file in QCAD. All good now.
Best,
Paolo
