Is there a way to change zero degrees to be at the top (north), rather than pointing right (east)?

Zero degrees pointing north

No, 0 degrees is always pointing right, along the positive X axis.
You can, however, enter surveyors angles, for example:
N for 90 degrees (top)
E for 0 degrees (right)
N10dE or N10°E for 80 degrees (North, 10 degrees east)
S10°W for 260 degrees
N10°1'1"W for 100°1'1"
etc.
