Using QCAD Professional
First, please check that you are using QCAD Professional and not the free QCAD Community edition. You can check this under Help > About or QCAD > About QCAD:
QCAD Professional offers much superior DXF/DWG compatibility.
DXF/DWG Format Versions
Keep in mind that there are various different versions of the DXF/DWG format. You can configure the default DXF/DWG format version that QCAD uses under Edit > Application Preferences > File > Open/Save > Default format. Check which format version is supported by the application you are using to import the file and export to that format version in QCAD. Older format versions typically yield better compatibility, especially with older software products. You might want to use File > Save As... to export your drawing in different format versions using separate file names (mydrawing_r12.dxf, mydrawing_r18.dxf, etc.).

Are you able to submit an example of a troublesome dxf file for testing?
What other applications are you using to open the 'QCAD' created dxf files?

For the best support please state your operating system, QCAD version and add any supporting DXF/DWG files, screenshots etc...
