V3 slow to use

Post by danzaneer » Thu Dec 04, 2014 12:09 pm

Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU T7300 @ 2.00GHz × 2 GeForce 8600M GS/PCIe/SSE2 32-bit Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 4Gb / 250Gb

Just upgraded to v3.7.3.0 after 3 or so years using v2.2.2.0, thinking that it was about time to make another contribution to the development of the product. And you have obviously been busy - nice work

I do find however that I have to continue using the earlier version for drawing since there is a very perceptible delay when selecting a tool or a menu option.

It is not the autosave issue, but I wonder if the msr's for this version exclude the ancient hardware I am using. Any thoughts?

I did two installs from the .tar.gz and with the installer to /opt. Both show the same behaviour.

TIA

This is a known issue on some installations / systems which was introduced in QCAD 3.7.2 and should be fixed in QCAD 3.7.5, released yesterday.

You can update for free from your download area (link sent to you via e-mail) or following our instructions at:
http://www.qcad.org/en/customer-area

Please let me know if that fixes the problem.
