[solved] Hatch pattern preview?

Post by HDK » Fri Apr 15, 2016 10:36 pm

When hatching an area, the hatch preview mostly shows all white, or an illegible pattern; suggestions? If this is a limitation of the viewer, at least on my system, is there a list of the hatch patterns with graphics?

You are likely working on a metric drawing which is using imperial hatch patterns or an imperial drawing using metric hatch patterns. Please check if the drawing preferences for units match under:

Thanks for the response. I checked the drawing unit settings and when it is set for Inch and Imperial it doesn't work, when I change it to MM and Metric it does.

Since I'm working with Architectural units (feet & inches) the drawing unit needs to be set for Inch not MM.

Is that just me? I can't see your pics on my screen ....

However - this example setting would not work for you?

Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro

Drawing units is set as shown (inch, inch, imperial) and the hatch comes out fine, just will not show up in the viewer.

The screen captures I uploaded were tiff images, perhaps jpg or png would work better...

I can confirm that the preview in the hatch dialog is broken for imperial drawings. The rectangle is too big to make the pattern visible. This has been improved for the next release.
