[solved] Copy/paste is not working
I am working with QCAD 3.24.0.0, x86_64 architecture compiled by MSVC++ 14.0 (2015)
I am creating a file with all the systems at my project, so it is just adding and adding polylines, circles, lines, polygons...
Boring and simple work.
Last 3 days, when I am trying to copy and paste elements I am not getting any result, in fact, when I am executing it, the item to be pasted seems to be distorted.
Previously that one happens if there was any item in 3D, but I am typing every item in 2D.
I use the utility for bring everything to 2D and I am not getting any result.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance
Regards

Unfortunately - using the same version - I can't reproduce the issue.davidbodego wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 1:25 amLast 3 days, when I am trying to copy and paste elements I am not getting any result, in fact, when I am executing it, the item to be pasted seems to be distorted.
- Please indicate exactly which area can't be copy/paste.
- Do you copy/paste within the same drawing or to another drawing?
- Is your scale factor 1?
Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro

Re: Copy/paste is not working
Thanks Husky.
One example with screenshots:
It doesn´t matter which item I tried to copy. With polyline, lines... I cannot see if it is floating or pasted.
With test I can see something deformed that later is not pasted, as you can see in the attached screenshots.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Copy/paste is not working
I forgot... factor scale 1:1
The drawing is huge because it is an indutrial project so we are working in milimeters.
Once that you need to type a lot, a comma or point is just one more character.

Re: Copy/paste is not working
Thanks for the additional explanation.
But I still can't reproduce it - it works just like a charm ...
Maybe two things to think about it:
First ...
Second and more important ...
Please try a paste insert scale of 1 (one) which works flawless for me for floating, multiple inserts etc etc.

... yes it is huge (approx 365354 meter by 725399 meter) but it isn't in millimeter! This example drawing is literally in meter!davidbodego wrote: ↑Sun Aug 22, 2021 4:07 amThe drawing is huge because it is an indutrial project so we are working in milimeters.
Second and more important ...
... could it be that you use a "Paste" insert scale of 0 (Zero)? That would explain what happens.

Re: Copy/paste is not working
Hi,
I am running 3.26.4.5 pro on win 7 pro
Within the drawing I searched for an entity with text "99.236" selecting it.
Zoomed to selection and somewhat out.
Copy/paste with that entity works perfectly.
If it is not about the text entity ...
I am sorry but there is no entity @+/-(301230;715628) between the cyan and orange polyline in view.
Nothing at all.
Reloading the drawing and zooming in to @+/-(301230;715628) without any selection ... Again there is nothing there.
Neither the entity marked with the red circle.
Maybe you filed the drawing after copy failed?!
Or maybe there is something wrong with that line shaped entity why selection would fail.
Maybe it won't save at all.
Have you tried to save the drawing with a different name and had a look for that entity?
Have you tried selecting all 3 horizontal entities at once?
Does the Property Editor Selection counts 3 or 2 entities?
With 'All(3)' deselect the cyan and the orange polyline piece wise and let us know what Handle the remaining entity has.
That starts with "0x"
BTW: A hint.
The drawing would be somewhat faster with straight single segment polylines converted to simple line entities.
The same for arc shaped.

CVH

Re: Copy/paste is not working
Hi,
I am running 3.26.4.0 on Win 10 Pro. The problems I am experiencing were originally noticed on version 3.25.2.2. I updated to new version and problem still exists. Here is what I experience
1. When performing a copy/paste action the pasted image is skewed about 4 degrees. See attached file. Copy/paste previously worked great with same version but only began skewing just recently.
2. Entire image is also skewed when I try to print it.
Thanks,
Tom

Please check the rotation (options toolbar at the top) while pasting.
Re: Copy/paste is not working
Thank you. That solved the copy/paste issue I was having. I feel pretty silly that I didn't catch that before coming to you. However I have one other issue associated with printing that showed up at roughly the same time as the copy/paste issue. Whenever I print lines are skewed and some portions do not print at all. See attached pdf. It still does it after the copy/paste problem solved.
Hopefully this is as simple as the last one.
Tom

Re: Copy/paste is not working
Tom: Please export your drawing to PDF and attach the PDF. If the PDF looks fine and just the print has the problem, I'm afraid it's a problem with your printer unrelated to QCAD.
Please post new, unrelated questions to a new topic, thanks.

Re: Copy/paste is not working
Finally... (Husky, you catch it, thx)
Problem fixed a few days ago but the forum was not working for me, as I cannot post.
The problem was that, unintentionally, I set the scale, when copy, to zero.
I never use this camp, so I even know that it exists.
Thank you for your help.
Problem fix and solved.

Re: [solved] Copy/paste is not working
I'm passing this on and I solved it based on posts in this discussion:
When pasting in QCad a "rotation" and "scale" field shows up at the top of the screen (I never noticed this before).
Somehow garbage got put into the "scale" field. When I changed it back to 1 everything started working again.
