custom hatch problem

Post by ericsopa » Mon Jan 07, 2008 3:59 am

I'm try to create a custom hatch, but it does not work. It says "Hatch created successullly", but the object is blank. I'm not in draft mode. I've tried many different scales. The Preview is also blank. I'm using 2.0.5.0 Community Edition.

As a test, I modified the default ar-conf.dxf by adding a small circle. The hatch does preview and appears in the object, but the circle is not part of the hatch. I tried several scales and I am sure the entire hatch patter is being repeated.

One thing I noticed is that elements in ar-conc.dxf are all "Black/White, 0.00mm and Continuous" but when I add the circle it is "By layer, By layer, By layer". I tried changing the circle to match the other elements, but same result.

I looked at the dxf code on ar-conc.dxf and my custom hatch and they are very different. Too bad I don't know how to read dxf yet.

One other odd thing is that all the default hatch patterns show up twice in the drop down on the "Choose Hatch Attributes" window. However, there is only one set of hatch files installed so I don't know why QCAD is doubling them. For any given hatch either selection seems to work.
