I found that the "c,c" shortcut works for lines as well (a line is a circle with infinite radius!). It is twice as fast as you hit the same key twice...

Yes, the explanation lies in the fact that the parallel tool, the concentric circle tool and the concentric arc tool are all one and the same tool, available in different contexts.
