QCAD on Ubuntu 12.04
Having upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 I seem to have lost both the QCAD Manual and all fonts. Can I re-install, and how best to do it without losing data?
Re: QCAD on Ubuntu 12.04
If QCAD cannot find its resources (help files, fonts, hatch patterns, translations, ...), it is very likely because it is not being started from its installation directory. Please change into the installation directory of QCAD first and then start QCAD from there:
cd /path/to/qcad
./qcad
If that does not fix the problem, you can indeed reinstall QCAD by extracting the downloaded tar.gz file again. Your CAD drawings are unaffected by this. However, backing up your data including CAD drawing files regularly is strongly recommended anyway.

Thanks! That did it. I had, to speed up opening QCAD, been using a link to it from my desktop; didn't realise until I tried to call up some large fonts, that I had given myself a problem.
