QCAD crashes in segmentation faults

Post by arborhelp » Sat May 16, 2009 1:03 am

Hi,

I was given a dwg file by a client and used everydwg under wine to convert it to R14 ASCII dxf file. It didn't turn out to be a large file and I cut and pasted the necessary parts of the drawings into a new QCAD dxf file. I then added some layers etc....When print previewing, printing or exporting to PDF the app greys out, then crashes. When going through the kernel log files, I find the logged segmentation faults. I've pasted them below:

I'm running QCAD version 2.2.2.0 professional on ubuntu 9.04 x86_64 bit with the 2.6.28-11-generic kernel. I watched what my machine did in Htop when attempting to convert to PDF and the memory is barely used. I'm using an AMD phenom quad-core and I watch no 2 cpu hit 107%, but the other cpus don't seem to kick in - the app just then crashes. I have 4gb of RAM and that barely hits 1gb of use during the attempts. QCAD will happily convert the file to a jpg, but not pdf. I haven't tried using a different dxf version such as 2000 ASCII, but will. I will also try to repeat the problem on a 32 bit ubuntu machine running version 8.10. However, from looking at the logs, is there enough info to tell whether there's a bug in the app, or in my kernel, or just an inherent risk in using everydwg under wine to convert a dwg to dxf? this is the first time this has happened to my machine and I use QCAD every day - my suspicion is the file itself and/or the way it's been converted.
