When trying to add my own post processor, the file cannot be added as I do not have permissions to write to folder C:\Program Files\QCADCAM\postprocessors (or similar).

You need to be an administrator of the computer to write to the C:\Program Files folder.
You can either copy the file as administrator or save your own post processors into your home folder under:
where <your login name> is replaces with your login name.
