peter76: The change log is still the best place to stay up to date:
http://www.ribbonsoft.com/qcad_doc_changelog.html

What is left to do is:
- finishing up true type text support
- porting all measuring tools to QCAD 3
- porting all modification tools to QCAD 3
- porting all dimension tools to QCAD 3
- porting hatch / solid fill tool to QCAD 3
- porting image tool to QCAD 3
- porting isometric tool to QCAD 3

So...six months? Is there a mechnism that would automatically alert interested customers, as opposed to checking every so often? I do check weekly.

Thanks

Great, thanks. Except I did not see the link for the watch. Thanks again for being so responsive to customers.

Release Schedule

Is there a planned release date for qcad 3? I currently have a licence for 2.2 and am eligible for automatic upgrade to 3.0. I am getting a little frustrated when trying to use 3.0 and it periodically shutting down making work difficult and leaving me feeling like a software pirate.

Do you have a list of release blocking bugs that are being addressed before the final 3.0 release?

The release candidates that I have used to date are far superior to the 2.2 series and a credit to you and your developers. I hope to see it unleashed onto the market very soon.

kurtforrester: we're still improving stability on all platforms and doing more testing as well as updating the user manual and some crucial internationalization (de, fr, it, es, pt). There will likely be an RC4 release before the final release which will hopefully be stable on the vast majority of all supported platforms. User interface translations will be beta in that release and the reference manual only complete in English and possibly German.

Thanks for your patience!

Just a quick update: I'm working on the QCAD 3 RC5 release right now which will hopefully become the final QCAD 3 release later. The show stopper so far were unpredictable crashes which turned out to be caused by the script debugger. This developer tool will be switched off by default in QCAD 3 RC5.

While interested users are testing QCAD 3 RC5 on their systems, we will be updating documentation and books. After that, QCAD 3 final will be released.
