Block and insert attributes

Post by led » Mon Sep 03, 2007 6:18 pm

How do attribute changes to blocks/inserts work?

I have several inserts showing the motion of a part and I'd like them to be different colors. However, when I select the insert and change the color with the attributes menu, the insert deselects and no color change occurs until I explode the block. Then of course I lose the utility of the block.

From the manual it seems that color ought to be a changeable attribute, like scaling or angle, I just can't figure out how to do it.

Incidentally, if I immediately undo the explode, i sometimes end up with
the block 'on top of' the exploded items. I'm not sure why it happens with
some blocks and not others.

Basically, use "Layers" on the right side of QCad.
Then Change the Layer attributes to change anything within this layer.

Edit an existing Drawing with the Edit, Attibute or the like on the left-side of QCad.

Hotkey "at".
