SVG import

Post by rdohmeier » Wed Sep 28, 2011 5:02 pm

Just to let you know, I created a simple SVG file in Inkscape, checked that I could import it into Scribus, and imported it into Qcad3, but the result was just a blank page.
Not sure if I was missing something. . . .

Please note that SVG import is very limited at this point and was mainly added to facilitate some SVG files we have in the part library.

Only typical CAD entities (paths, lines, arc, circles, etc.) are supported.

It would be great if this could be developed because there are not many, if any, linux .svg to .dwg converters. Converting .svg to .dxf is available through Inkscape but is NOT ideal when working with firms who are standardized on .dwg.
I would be happy to volunteer with grunt work or graphics on this, but am not much of a programmer . . .
