QCad 3.0 final Mac?

Post by acondit » Fri Sep 28, 2012 9:49 pm

I just tried to download QCad 3.0 final for my Mac running 10.6.8. I previously had QCad 3 rc2. Now the new copy says Version 3.0 Beta 2. Is there a QCad 3.0 final for the Mac?

Welcome here to the forum
Yes there is a QCAD 3 final for mac. I`m not a mac user so I don`t know the exact procedure - but something like this may help!
1. Try a clean install, completely un-install rc2 first then in-stall 3 final.
2. Or install to a new directory folder as at the moment your 3.0 final is probably using the original rc2 folder!

On the Mac you just drag the new application to the "Applications" folder and since they have the same name, you are asked to confirm that you wish to overwrite the older file with the newer file. So, once you say yes the older version is gone, replaced by the newer version.

I just looked at the contents of the app. The info.plist still says Version 3.0 Beta 2 but a readme.txt in the resources folder says this is the final version of 3.0. So it looks like just a failure to update the info.plist in the 3.0 final version.

acondit: yes, you're right. The info.plist didn't get updated but it's QCAD 3 final indeed.
