I am using QCAD-Pro 3.4.4 on Mac OS X 10.7.4. When I try to open a file that I saved previously, QCAD crashes. A memory usage indicator shows that QCAD's memory usage jumping up while trying to load the file, and it seems to run out of memory and then crashes. The block list view gets populated before the crash. I also tried loading this file into QCAD-Pro 3.4.x on Windows and it also crashes. The file was saved with an earlier version of QCAD-Pro 3.x. The Mac system log shows:
12/16/13 8:52:28.152 AM [0x0-0x11cc1cb].org.qcad: QCAD-Pro(28936,0xac82a2c0) malloc: *** mmap(size=16777216) failed (error code=12)
12/16/13 8:52:28.152 AM [0x0-0x11cc1cb].org.qcad: *** error: can't allocate region
12/16/13 8:52:28.152 AM [0x0-0x11cc1cb].org.qcad: *** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug
12/16/13 8:52:28.152 AM [0x0-0x11cc1cb].org.qcad: terminate called throwing an exception
I can send the full crash report if that might help identify the problem.
Any suggestions as to how I might repair the file so that I can recover it? Thanks.

Re: crash when opening file
Thanks for your report. Can you attach or e-mail the DXF file for testing? Thanks.
Re: crash when opening file
Since I haven't heard back from you, I don't know if this is related to your specific problem:
A problem in connection to block recursions has been fixed in the latest QCAD version (3.4.5). If this update solves your issue, it was likely related to blocks containing references to themselves (recursion).
