New Guy, with some questions.
Hello Everybody,
We are in the Granite countertop industry and do a lot of 2d drawings.
Some how our software key on our drawing program (logotag) got lost.
To make a long story short we decided to give QCAD a try...
I really start enjoin working with QCAD.
We Import lots of DXF Sink file from the manufactory (Blanco, Kindered, Perl etc) Somehow we have to Offset all the sink by 5mm - 8mm,
I know it has nothing to do with qcad but I would like to know if there is an easier way to offset a Sink than using the Parallel with Distance tool and offsetting line by line??
I also have tried the Offset OQ tool but this is not working at all.
How can I check if all the lines are connected? Most of the time I have to zoom in all the way and check if they are connected, i'm sure there must be a tool for it I just don't know where to find it..
Would be great if I could find some answers here in this chat room..
Thank you

Re: New Guy, with some questions.
Hello M.Eggert - welcome in the Forum!
I guess it would be much easier if you were able to post a sample dxf of the manufacturer sinks what shows us the real problematic.
Then we will take it from there, OK?
OQ works only on polylines. If your dxf sink isn't drawn with polylines try to select the lines - use the OG tool (create Polylines from lines) and click one of the lines which is already selected. After that - try the Offset tool OQM.Eggert wrote:I also have tried the Offset OQ tool but this is not working at all.

Re: New Guy, with some questions.
Okay, I attached an Undermount sink.
we need to offset the sink 8mm inside, please have a look at it and let me know..
Thank you

Re: New Guy, with some questions.
Thank you Husky
So I'm sure that there is also a solution, How to check a broken line?
We take our measurements on the job site with a templator ( prodium proliner ) and then we import them to QCAD
sometimes it happen that one of the line is not connected, it takes a long time for me to find the not connected line manual ( zoom in zoom out with every segment )
Thank you

Re: New Guy, with some questions.
Thanks for the dxf.
Yep - it works as I already told you:
"OQ works only on polylines. If your dxf sink isn't drawn with polylines try to select the lines - use the OG tool (create Polylines from lines) and click one of the lines which is already selected. After that - try the Offset tool OQ"

... the tool OQ comes along with a Option-bar .... use the value -8 to get the offset inside.M.Eggert wrote:Okay, I attached an Undermount sink.

Re: New Guy, with some questions.
Hi Matthias and welcome, there is no specific tool to search and find a broken line as it were... but here's a sneaky little workaround that may help you out .M.Eggert wrote:So I'm sure that there is also a solution, How to check a broken line?
1. Here's your drawing, but I have deliberately broken a line!
2. ... and here it is.
3.Go to the hatch tool and try to create a Hatch, as you may know a complete unbroken boundary is needed for hatching ... but lets see what happens.
4.It wont hatch - as expected and it gives the coordinate location in the command line for reference and highlights the issue in your drawing. Once fixed you can try hatching again if there are any more broken lines (unclosed loops) it will show them to you as QCAD finds them.
5.Loop closed/line fixed and a successful hatch created .
Hope this helps.
For the best support please state your operating system, QCAD version and add any supporting DXF/DWG files, screenshots etc...

Thank you for the quick respond.

Re: New Guy, with some questions.
I works very well with the Hatch tool, but I'm just wondering if there is any other tool I can use as well to check all the unconnected or broken lines?
Thx
