Exploded a simple text A into polylines. exploded polylines into lines and arcs. modified by using trim and break out segment. result makes a bunch of zero length entities. can be found and eliminated by using detect zero length, but casual user just see a bunch of errors in the dxf r21 file.

as you can see the coordinates are wacko and start and end angles are the same.

Larry,
Can you elaborate on how you exploded the capital A in Arial?
I can not replicate this with QCAD Pro 3.27 on a Win7 32 bit.
I know that the top inside explodes to 2 splines and is a bit crooked.
Exploding these I get 4 well defined arcs besides the 11 line segments.

CVH
Please provide more detailed information / steps to reproduce.
I can see 8 zero length or very short elements far away from the two letters (see attached screenshot). Are those the problem? Did these appear at those locations while working on the small orange letter?
Thanks.
Indeed ...
- 6 null-length lines
- 1 tiny line 0.00132 long
- 1 tiny arc 2e-8 long
All 8 on layer 'hatch'

CVH
CVH, I sent the detailed steps to Andrew. Unfortunately I cannot re-create the zero length entities. They just seem to appear out of nowhere. I just had a file yesterday the that had infinity entries in the dxf header.

This probably does not help at all, and to tell the truth, I dont even know what variable "Pextmin" is although is looks like extents of some sorts. I put traps in my program to zero out infinity entries in entities. At this time I cannot give you a step by step process to duplicate. I just get a file from a customer that isnt working and that is what I find.
I will just need to pay close attention to it and try to re-create the process so you can fix it.
The file attached at the beginning of this did cause zero length entities but I cannot re-create it at will. I realize the inability to re-create makes it difficult to track down.
