Note that my operating system is Windows 11. Recently updated from 32 bit (3.24.3.0) on old machine to 64bit version (3.27.3) on new computer. Old drawings transferred across to new version. Now bits of text missing. I can overcome bits of text missing by selecting View-Screen based Linetypes but when I print the text has bits missing once again. Some text appears and then disappears as you zoom in and out and selecting View screen based linetypes has no effect. Also I have noticed that the special character Ohm symbol shows as ? on screen. Also not possible to put Italic letters on drawing.

Thanks for the files.

These texts are on layer "Dashed" with a dashed linetype. This is why these texts are displayed with a dashed line pattern ("gaps"). The difference with QCAD 3.24.3 is that fonts have been optimized since then and some glyphs are now defined with polylines instead of line segments. In QCAD 3.24.3 the dashes where also there but less likely to show up for small texts.

There are various solutions:
- Move these texts to another layer (e.g. "0")
- Change their linetype to "Continuous"
- Change the font to a TrueType font

For example:
- View > Selection Filter
- Entity type: "Text based"
- Click button at the left to select all texts
- View > Property Editor
- Change Layer to "0" or Linetype to "Continous" or Font Name to "Arial"

Many thanks for that Andrew.
What about the other two issues with text that I mentioned earlier?? Italic text appears and disappears as I zoom in and out and if I try to insert italic text it will not show as italic on screen. Also when I try to insert an 'ohm' special character I only get a '?' question mark.
Apologies if I'm doing something silly !!
Regards
Richard
