QCAD Pro crashes (or quits; there's no crash report dialog shown) if I select Help--> Check for QCAD Pro Updates.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling QCAD, and the configuration file. Doesn't help.

Please download and install this package instead from your download link:
QCAD Professional 3.28.1 for Linux Qt 5.14 64bit (Installer)
Thank you. I can confirm that the qcad-3.28.1-pro-linux-qt5.14-x86_64 installer version does not have this problem.
For my understanding, can you please explain what makes this version different from the qcad-3.28.1-pro-linux-x86_64 I had been using earlier, and why might one version be chosen instead of the other?
It's a newer Qt version that supports newer SSL protocols used for checking for updates.
