Re: Because QCAD is slower than BricsCAD or DraftSight

Thanks for the drawing. Unfortunately that is a 3D drawing - that won't work with QCAD.

Can't load the video - damaged file.
Could you post the drawing what shows the issue?

Re: Black and White color

... features a Black/White color, instead of Black color and White color ... Interesting! ... I think that introducing Black/White color for QCad should be easy. If you think that could be a benefit for QCAD then I would recommend to file a feature request. Here in this forum it could be lost what ...

Re: QCAD has taken over my DXF files

Ok, here my thoughts on that: Thank You Husky Works great in Sheet cam, just for the h**l of it I imported it to Inkscape and the error box came up again, so Inkscape is the problem. Great - good to know  I'm a year into CNC plasma cutting and it's been a year of trying to set up a plasma tabl...

Re: Because QCAD is slower than BricsCAD or DraftSight

Hi,

sorry, I can't answer your question but I'm wondering about this 3D/2D statement. QCAD is a plain 2D CAD program and 1000 KB should not be an issue at all.

Re: QCAD has taken over my DXF files

Ok, that is definitive an Inkscape issue and because this is the QCAD forum we can't help you much with that. Howsoever - try to load this test drawing which is a simple rectangle. Tell me how it works. rectangle R13.dxf Question: Why is Inkscape in your tool chain? It is a graphics editor and not r...

Is this possible? I noticed that I have the extension DXF for the file name. Should I save as a DWG file first?
Yes, that is possible with the "Polyline from Segments" tool. (Menu, Draw, Polyline). It will work at dxf and dwg.
Doublecheck the "closed" status within the Property Editor.

Re: Set or Change Dimension Units to mil

EDIT: I just realized something. I may have simply switched units of the drawing without converting the units (by scaling the drawing) - so, 0.7498mm became 0.7498mil. If this is the case then that explains why the dimension still displayed the same number. Do you suppose this is what occurred? Is ...

The difficulty is you can't offset a multi-selection to offset to all individually.
That is incorrect.

Just curious: What is the benefit of that?

Re: flange.dxf

Hi, Can someone advise further steps to moving from the wire-frame kind of thing to something more realistic? That is manually done - entity by entity. Everything what is normally invisible (behind something else) needs to go away. You can use for that task a bunch of QCAD tools like "Break out", "D...

Re: show lines "inside" rectangle

Thanks for clarification. Attached is a dxf/screenshot. Every "part" is a rectangle, but due to them overlapping, you cannot see the colors everywhere. Ok, I see were you are going ... If the lines were drawn "inset" just a bit (the lines' width), everything would show up nicely. You could use the o...

Re: QCAD has taken over my DXF files

Hi Ron, welcome to the QCAD forum. QCAD is not able to change any dxf drawing on it's own. If you like to change anything in a drawing with QCAD then it is only possible with human intervention. QCAD is also not able to change settings in other programs. With other words - it doesn't takes anything ...
