Re: dimensioning

This are my working settings for a metric (mm) drawing. Would that work for you too?

If not, what is your setting for Auto Snap / Free positioning?

Re: Cant repport bug...

I attach a file where the bug can be reproducible: just move the cursor around the junction bridge of the two lines. I tried to reproduce that behavior. No luck - works fine for me. Looks like the angle dim was rotated, correct? What else was modified? Just "move the cursor around the junction" did...

Re: Print Preview issue (Print Curent View works instead)

My purchase of QCAD was written over the free version and I was not given the option to set default and user interface language. Can I reset to original default? Ok, that could be the reason why you have problems! Please note - never mix QCAD installation in the same subdirectory. To come back on t...

Re: Print Preview issue (Print Curent View works instead)

Hi, sounds like something went wrong and you're right now trying to print a multiple page drawing ... Try this: launch "Print preview", look in the option bar for single page (1) - click on it, look in the option bar for "Autofit drawing to page" - click on it,, There are a few more steps needed but...

Re: Hi from Eastern NC US

Hello ShianRaine - welcome to the QCAD forum! I have a 15 year background in using Autodesk's version of CAD (Architecture and Civil Engineering) but wanted to check this out for home use. Thank you for your introduction. Sounds to me you have the right background and now also the right tool for you...

Re: Suggestion: ability to mix absolute and relative coordinates

Unlike some other commands, for example LI and MV, the command "RZ" <enter> does not bring a prompt for a location or coordinates. The response is simply "Command: rz" The command line remains as "Command:". Correct. If you need something is asking you for the position then you should make the Stat...

Re: Compatibility to AutoCAD

Hi justinchan - welcome to the QCAD forum, So, I have tried to use AutoCAD to open the dwg file created by QCAD and find there is a water mark saying it is created by student version....especially doing print preview in AutoCAD. The water mark is created by AC and not by QCAD neither is it a part of...

Re: Suggestion: ability to mix absolute and relative coordinates

Note however that the RZ command is unfortunately a little lacking in versatility. The RZ command awaits a click on a location to snap to an intersection or snap point to set the relative zero point. Nope - that isn't correct. . Thus, no way to specify coordinates to precisely set the relative zero...

Re: Multiple views

Can I take that single view and turn them in to three views without drawing the views separately , like we did in drafting class. No, that is impossible with a 2D CAD program. Question: Could it be that you have seen something what was able to do that? If yes, was that a 3D CAD program? Here is a F...

Re: Problem opening DWG files in QCAD.

Hi FergusB - welcome to the QCAD forum, This only happens in the case of a few files - most DWG files open OK. I'm attaching a problem file and would appreciate any assistance on this. Thanks! QCAD expects dxf/dwg drawings based on the standard - this example drawing has nothing to do with a "standa...

Re: PDF Export

Danke.

Re: Multiple views

That is what I am looking for. Great! Not sure how to pan them in to the separate the views. I will struggle through a bit to try and figure it out. You can use different methods .... QCAD offers a lot alternatives. Howsoever - in this case I would click into the view to activate it, use the Zoom t...
