Re: How to Troubleshoot Non-Closed Polylines?

Also, when I cut and pasted from one QCAD to another QCAD - the units seem to have been lost. That shouldn't be the case. If the source drawing is e.g. in inch and the target drawing is in mm Qcad will convert the drawing within a copy/paste task accordingly with the correct ratio - nothing is lost...

I've followed that, and then when I save it and insert it into my own drawing it just adds in 1 block.
Something doesn't add up here .... e_surprised

With "insert" you mean "Import". Correct? In that case there is no need to copy/paste or explode anything ....

Re: How to Troubleshoot Non-Closed Polylines?

The length you measure in the screen capture should be on the order of 0.16 inches. Nope - it isn't ... So, just scale the attached drawing by 25.4. Thanks but there is no need for me to scale anything. Howsoever. I can't find a gap and I'm pretty sure there is something else what isn't accepted by...

Is there a way to select and scale an object via a mouse + keyboard command, or something similar?
Yes, within the Scale dialog is the possibility given to define the scale factor with the mouse.

Re: How to Troubleshoot Non-Closed Polylines?

How can you tell if there's a gap? The structure needs to actually be closed. I misuse the hatch tool. If a hatch is possible then the shape has no gap. Your structure is closed! .. it becomes quite difficult to visually see the issue. Well, the size of the shape makes it not easier. May I ask you ...

Re: How to Troubleshoot Non-Closed Polylines?

Similar objects ( with the arc ) will import - leading me to believe there is some fundamental issue with this one object ( such as non-closed polyline ). I've isolated the offending part - created a separate QCAD file and attached to this post. So far it looks pretty good to me but I don't know wh...

Re: Help testing Trial QcadCam Version: 3.23.0.0 (3.23.0)

Hi,

QCAD/CAM can't identify the proper shape of the largest part. The 20 mm Circle on the very left side needs a bit of trim work ...

After decades of leaning on a board and looking into screens.. How bad are your eyes.. Mine are shot !! Mine too. e_confused It's a Monday morning here and I haven't had my daily moan yet and you're a convenient target. Looks like I have to be a bit more careful. A person from the future is talking...

Re: Hello from down here.

Hello Steven - welcome to the QCAD forum. After about 10 years on the drawing board I started on Cad, that was in 1985 e_surprised . DOS, 286, 16k memory e_surprised . I no longer draw full time for a living, but do occasionally need to check geometric issues and 2D is what I require. I haven't down...

If I get the single urer's pro licence, can I install QCAD in all my computers ( tabletop and laptop ) ?
Yes!
You have just to make sure that you are the only one who is working with QCAD.

Re: Snapshot issue for 3.23.06: Dimension text not showing in Layouts

On the note of scaling dimensions: It would be awesome to have an extra scale factor on viewports that only affected the dimensions of that viewport. Something maybe called: 'Dimensions scale'. Yes - I would appreciate that too. Something maybe called: 'Dimensions scale'. I would prefer something c...

Re: Snapshot issue for 3.23.06: Dimension text not showing in Layouts

Thanks. I have reported the bug here: https://www.qcad.org/bugtracker/index.php?do=details&task_id=1998 Great! Thanks. The 15 cm value worked well when working in the Model space. It has a ok size when using a Viewport with scale 1/100; this gives a height of 0.15 cm when printed (yes it is small, ...

Re: Snapshot issue for 3.23.06: Dimension text not showing in Layouts

Thanks for the drawing. Two things .... 1. Yes, I would consider that as a bug too. Please fill the bug report below https://www.qcad.org/bugtracker I recommend to work with QCAD Pro 3.23.0 until a solution is available 2. On an other note - I'm confused by your used drawing values regarding dim's (...
