QCAD version 3.1.1.0 (3.1.1)
The other user is using
QCAD 3.0
Please make sure that you are using a file format version that is supported by both versions of QCAD. QCAD 3.0 supports DXF/DWG up to version 2010.

Re: manage grid spacing and ruler markings

The office is 210 * 410 cm so I'm using a 20:1 scale to fit on A4. In CAD, one should always construct real size (1:1). A drawing scale is only applied / needed for printing, as outlined at: https://qcad.org/tutorial-printing I want to use a grid granularity of 5 cm for snaps - but when I do that t...

Re: Detect Duplicates / Auto Refresh

I should never be in need to use Refresh when Auto Refresh is active or do I miss something? Auto refresh refreshes the selection automatically when changing the options of the tool (tolerance, ignore layer, etc). It is in the nature of QCAD that you can do a million other things while a tool is ru...

Re: Detect Duplicates / Auto Refresh

Unchecking "Ignore Layer" should do the trick for a first step to make sure every line only exists once per layer. BTW: The "original" is completely arbitrary. The algorithm simply iterates through all entities and looks for duplicates. Whichever entity is discovered first is treated as "original". ...

Re: Detect Duplicates / Auto Refresh

But how can you determine which line is the original that the tool will not select? You cannot. By definition, there is no such thing as an original when it comes to duplicates. Having an original would imply that one of the lines is somehow linked to the others or marked as being more important th...

Einfach Optionen a...

Re: Some DXF files import as 1D

There are many different DXF readers with various degrees on tolerating issues in DXF files. so I know the fault does not lie in the DXF files, but lies squarely with QCAD autocad360.com (the official Autocad standard free online DXF/DWG viewer) does not load the file at all: Unrecoverable exit code...

Re: DIM Arc Length tool changes the style ...

It is hard for me to believe that a uncontrolled jump from one style to another is indented behavior without a drawing / geometrical reason. I guess the reason is that radial extension lines look odd for arcs with small angles, especially when placed relatively far away from the entity. Think of ar...

Re: How to release the QCAD from source code with some change?

There is no automated release process built into the open source QCAD sources. You can download our trial packages from the qcad.org web site to see what they contain and where. Note: if your changes are of interest to the wider public, please consider issuing push requests on github to contribute t...
