Re: How do I close a loop?

"Hatch from Segments" works fine, but I still wish I could just click on an enclosed area and the hatching algorithm figures it out by itself which segments are involved. see https://www.ribbonsoft.com/bugtracker/index.php?do=details&task_id=763&type%5B0%5D=&sev%5B0%5D=&pri%5B0%5D=&due%5B0%5D=&cat%5...

Re: Bitmap overlays drawing

I didn't know about the Modify > Draw Order > Send to Back possibility! Every day you learn something new.
Thanks!

And also thanks for pointing me to the Fade-option.

Bitmap overlays drawing

Hi! I am using QCAD pro v3.21.3.0 on Linux. Works like a charm. :-) First I created a drawing. Then I imported an image and scaled and moved it into position. So far, so good. My problem is now that I can't see my drawing anymore. It is hidden underneath the image. How can I make the drawing visible...

Re: generating gear part

Two gears mesh if the module is the same.

It would help if we could enter the module instead of the pitch diameter. Then we would always get gears that work together.

Ok, that works.

Out of curiosity:
What is the reason for the overhang or the gap?

I second that! QCAD IS AWESOME!
I got hooked right from the beginning.

Thanks, Andrew!

Chaining narrow dimension

I hope that chain dimensioning is coming soon.

For narrow dimensions it currently looks like this:

Instead it should look like this:

Angular dimension overshoots

I noticed that the line for angular dimensions is too long when placing the dimension inside.
When placing it outside there is a gap.

Can this be changed in the preferences?

Diametric dimension outside the circle

As you can see in the image below, sometimes there is no space inside a circle for the dimension. So let's move it outside. That can be done by exploding the dimension. That works fine. BUT: Later, when you change the dimension settings in your drawing preferences, this exploded dimension will not b...

Re: How do I set different linetype scales for the same layer in different viewports?

No, this is not currently possible. However, this seems to be useful and supported by the DXF/DWG format, so there's a good chance this will be implemented in one the next releases. Presumably, this is what you had in mind: Yes, exactly. Big thank you in advance! But make it optional, so the curren...

How do I set different linetype scales for the same layer in different viewports?

On the paper space I have created three viewports with different scales.
Is it possible to bind the linetype scale to the viewport scale?

Re: Feature Request: Textbox inside padding

Husky wrote:May I ask you how many times you would use this "padding" on average in a drawing? 5 times? 500 times?
It depends. Last time I did it I had to place 24 texts. Some of them had padding left and on top, some were centered text with padding on the bottom.

Re: Feature Request: Textbox inside padding

Husky, thanks for the video. Your approach works fine, but so does adding parallel construction lines and placing the text there. But I still think, from a usability standpoint, a small addition to the text dialog (under the Text Geometry section) would be the right way to go. It would save the user...

Re: Feature Request: Textbox inside padding

It would be nice to have some padding options when adding/editing text. Unfortunately, I don't think padding exists in DXF/DWG which means if QCAD implements this, drawings would look different when opened in any other DXF/DWG application. It doesn't have to be "real" padding. It only has to look l...
