Re: dwg2bmp output layer/block
Thank you, that is way better than the approach I was considering. I do really appreciate the amazingly quick response too.

Re: dwg2bmp output layer/block
That chunk of code has been super helpful. By digging into the merge tool, and elsewhere I was able get the first part working. Now I need to be able to handle some scaling. It looks like simple_modify.js will do the trick, but I haven't been able to figure out how to select the entities I want to s...

Re: dwg2bmp output layer/block
I've another idea which would be to create a script that would select the entities on a layer, create a block, and save the modified dxf. I'd think that should be simple, but I am not yet up to speed with scripting. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

Re: dwg2bmp output layer/block
Ah I was wondering why
didn't show -block. I've purchased the updated version of QCAD-CAM and the block output is working.
Any suggestions on how to output a specific layer?
Code: Select all
dwg2bmp -h

dwg2bmp output layer/block
Ideally, I'd be able to specify a layer to select the output for dwg2bmp, but after looking at the documentation it seems like I should at least be able to specify a specific block. However that doesn't seem to work using the following command: $ dwg2bmp -a -b white -c -f -r 10 -block IHS_DOOR_BLOCK...

Separate Coordinate Display from Drawing Dimensions
According to the changelog for version 3.9.3 the info tools and coordinate display are tied to the current drawing dimensions. For much of my use I prefer to have the dimensions format different. The main reason is that my customers want to see the format in fractions, but when I am drawing I'd rath...

Re: Command Line Focus
I'm a noob , I see now. Also focus the option tool bar with Ctrl-Space. I guess it'll take a bit to get used to, it's just a bit awkward until then, plus once I start to understand the UI and the design reasons/choices I'll be rocking.

Command Line Focus
Is there a way to get the the command line to focus when using shortcut commands? (currently using OSX if that matters) I am coming from ACAD and to be able to just type in commands, including command options such as the first point, second point, radius, etc without having to touch the mouse would ...

Excellent! Your're using QT Script Engine, that makes sense. Thanks for the quick response.

Call External C Library
Is it possible to call an external c library from within the EMCA script environment? Or are scripts executed in a "sandbox" that not allow that, and would I instead have to modify C++ source (getting the applicable license of course) accomplish that kind of functionality?

Re: New version of CAM Expert?
Just thought I'd bump this thread since I do not see anywhere to purchase CAM Expert, which of course makes me wonder if there is a new version yet.
