Re: Rubber lines and block snap points

I'm a very occasional user of QCAD, and as such not really in a position to answer your question, but I'll add my two cents here anyway: - If you are looking for EDA, you're obviously wrong here (head on for kicad), but I think you know that. - If you are looking for something to give you limited di...

Re: Disfigured Objects from Importing

Hi clive, thanks for the flowers, but this has nothing to do with cleverness, just with a lengthy experience with AutoCAD and its followers. Your workaround instructions were completely valid, I would have done the same - this block needed rebuilding anyway (because of the ill placed basepoint and u...

Re: Disfigured Objects from Importing

Looks like a small glitch with nested mirrored blocks (x-scale = -1):
if the mirrored block insertion contains nested insertions, only their base points are mirrored, while the insertions themselves keep their scale.
Should be easy to fix, I guess...

Re: Hierarchical layer list

Well, I see... If the purpose is to give QCAD a unique way to create a layer tree, with minimal risk of perturbation and with the inner workings mostly hidden from the users, this makes sense (" . " would probably have been enough, though - I did not encounter this in layer names in 25 years, and it...

Re: Hierarchical layer list

Just enabled hierarchical layers, and the feature looks really nice so far... I especially like the name-based approach. I wrote a small tool for ACADr12 ages ago, which followed the same path (see pic). Of course, the integration in qcad is much more elegant than my old lisp script was, but it had ...

Re: search path

Thanks for the swift answer - I would never have figured this out myself... My dumb solution was to create a "qcad-current" link to point to the latest version, and a "qcad-custom" directory to hold customized files. Then I edited the include statements in the scripts to point to qcad-current, and e...

[solved] search path

The pace of progress qcad makes is simply amazing - just downloaded 3.4.4 and checked selection filtering, great! (just a small glitch: grips are drawn also for entities on hidden layers). However, I started to customize the interface a little to my needs, and with each new version, I have to edit /...

Re: reversing arcs

Thanks so much. I had already noticed the commit on git, and I'm completely stunned. Less than 2 hours after reporting, the bug has not only been fixed, but there is a new scripting example as well... almost incredible. Looking at the js code, I immediately understand the main part, but with AutoLis...

reversing arcs

Hello, I have recently looked into qcad a little, and although I feel not yet very comfortable with it (I'm relying on BricsCAD for 2d), I must say I'm quite impressed by the maturity it has reached. I just found a little problem with svg-import (all arcs were drawn in wrong direction) and reported ...
