Re: Producing multi-page drawings
That looks really smart, thank you. How do you manage the scaling of dimension lines, when you're using multiple scales?

Re: Producing multi-page drawings
Thanks, I've looked at that link but I think it implies that the whole drawing is printed at a single scale? How would you manage different page scales? Can you assign different print scales for each page?

Chris

Producing multi-page drawings
I am looking for some advice on technique here. I need to produce a set of drawings for a product, which comprise manufacturing drawings of a number of sub-assemblies (third-angle) and an isometric general assembly drawing, showing how everything fits together. The final output is a multi-page PDF. ...

Re: General drawing/CAD questions
Hi Clive, I'm starting to use CAD for work, but also use it for home work. I have a basic grounding in technical drawing from my college design & technology course (many years ago!), so I do have a reasonable understanding of the principles. Most of my questions are really about best practise. As an...

General drawing/CAD questions
Hi,
The more I use QCAD the more questions I have about technical drawing (mechanical) and the correct use of CAD in general. Can anyone recommend a suitable forum, mailing list, or similar?
Thanks,
Chris

What is layer '0' used for?
Hi,
In a mechanical drawing what is intended to be drawn on layer '0', as opposed to, say, the Outline layer? (I'm referring to the AEC layer template shipped with QCAD.)

Enlarged detail section
Hi, I'm not sure what is the correct terminology here, but what is the correct way to draw an enlarged (i.e. scaled up) view of a small detail on a much larger drawing? If I copy and scale up the section, the dimensions are obviously no longer correct. I can alter the scale factor for each dimension...

Hi,
Can someone please tell me, what is the distinction between Drawing units and Paper units? How are they used?
Thanks,
Chris

Re: QCad Pro DWG file problems
Thanks Andrew. Is there any chance of getting a pre-release or beta version? I'm a bit stuck without the ability to save. Alternatively, is there another way to sanitise the files easily outside of QCAD?
Chris

Re: QCad Pro DWG file problems
Hi Andrew,
I've just PM'd you the file. While doing so I also noticed that QCAD corrupts the file when it fails to save it, which is a bit alarming. I had to recover the original from backup.

Chris

QCad Pro DWG file problems
Hi, I'm working on an existing DWG file using QCAD Pro 3.6, Mac OS X 10.9.4 and I'm having some problems. First, and most importantly, saving the file always gives an error: "Error while writing variable MAXACTVP: Requires an integer between 2 and 64." Secondly, some things are not loaded correctly ...
