Installing updates for Professional version
Hi,
I purchased QCAD Pro (3.16.4) in Jan this year.
I have just read the notes about installing updates, and the email link now goes to a download page for QCAD Pro 3.18.1. Is this correct? There is no update file as such but I need to uninstall QCAD and reinstall with the new version?

Re: Restore an autosaved file
Hi Andrew :) Thanks for your response to my query and for clarifying how autosave works, I didn't really know the details. I think I have misused the terminology, but what I was really trying to say is that yes, I just want to be able to get my work that is lost when QCAD crashes (which it does on m...

Re: Restore an autosaved file
I am having the same problem on my professional version (3.7.7) running on Windows 7. Any idea where the backups are saved, or what setting I need to change? I also was asked "would you like to open the backup" but the backup was from about half an hour ago even though autosave was running every cou...

Re: Rotating and Scaling
Was just searching through the forums a bit more and found Husky's Rotate tutorial - thanks for that Husky!!
It was exactly what I was looking for in the rotate function.
Also applied same technique on the Scale tool, woohooo!

Rotating and Scaling
Hi :) Is there any way of rotating an object in relation to another object using reference points? I used to do this all the time previously in autocad but can't seem to find this option in qcad. Can you only rotate an object if you know the numerical angle?, as this would make my current project ve...

Drawing preferences and print settings
Hi guys, I purchased QCAD Pro 3.7.7 and am running it on Windows 7. Bit of a beginner's question. I thought I was having a strange problem with print preview and printing A3 to PDF. Checked all the print settings and page size, but then I went in to check the drawing preferences later and noticed it...

Re: Can't Save in Library
2.Do clean install of QCAD and navigate to the installation folder, right click folder and set permissions to read and write all files (under security tab). I was on QCAD Pro 3.6.4 on a Windows 7 laptop and was having the same issue as Barry. I tried your advice Clive and did a reinstall with the l...

Clive could you clarify where you find shape tools... is it under the draw menu?

Setting for creating rectangle
Hi all,
Is there a setting you can apply to a drawing that will automatically turn any rectangle you draw into a polyline rather than four separate lines
Jules

Hi from down under
Hi :) I am an interior designer in Australia. I used Cad software for many years but have recently started my own business and am giving QCad a go! So far I am about half way through the tutorial book and all smooth sailing so far. Really happy I have given QCad a try. Love that it is open source. ...
