Shortcuts for line attribute "start--middle--end"

Many line tools have the option "start--middle--end". I'm not a fan of selecting stuff with a mouse in menus. Couldn't the arrow keys be used to set the reference point? For example: if I'm using the vertical line tool, pressing the right arrow would move the reference point from "start" to "middle"...

Decimal point

Please enable using the decimal point of the numerical keypad too. It's annoying to have to use the period "." instead of the at hand "," on the numpad.

Selecting new tools

Sometimes when I select a new tool without cancelling the previous one, the input fields of several tools become visible without any apparent logic. Shouldn't selecting a new tool automatically cancel the old one? It would also be nice, if when selecting a new tool, keyboard focus would automaticall...

Ok Andrew. You are of course right. I had disabled the command line widget since it takes up valuable vertical space. Since virtually all text in the info area at the bottom and in the command line widget occupy less than half the screen width, couldn't they be layedout side by side instead of on to...

Leave objects selected after operations

I find it very annoying that an object doesn't stay selected after an operation. Is this supposed to be a feature?

Show mesurement results in bottom info pane

I have many times had problems with the mesure-tools since they show the result directly in the drawing area where it can get covered by other objects making it sometimes impossible to see what it says. It would also be many times nice if the result of a mesurement could be copied to the clipboard i...

1) Ok. This is what I think happened. After I noticed that the layers of a library object will also get inserted into the document, I made all my library objects only on the 0-layer. When I inserted the library block on the parts-layer, I had the 0-layer visibility off. So when I subsequently rotate...

Ok Andrew. But please remember to also make the mouse actions configurable, not only the hotkeys.

And for the record: I'm not writing here because I'm dissatisfied with QCAD. It's just the opposite. It's because I really like it that I bother to comment and hopefully be of some small help.

Rotating an block causes it to be moved to the 0-layer

I created some custom library objects and have had problems using them. I am creating a draft of an electric guitar so I created a tuner block object and saved it to the library. When I insert it to my drawing on the parts-layer (yes it is active) and the try rotating it, it will be moved to the 0-l...

Because people have different preferences and workhabits is exactly why I think commands/actions should be user definable to hotkeys and mouse buttons. I for one would like to have CTRL-C for copy with reference. Copy without reference is pretty useless to me.

Reference point in library blocks not mentioned in manual

The manual doesn't say anything about the reference point of a user created library object. I just happened to notice that the origin (0,0) will be automatically used as a reference point, which is fine. You could add this info into the manual though.

Ok. But it seems that you can't create a polyline from a polyline and a segment. The polyline has to be exploded first. But you can then select all segments and combine them into a polyline with one click. Visual feedback would be nice though.

User definable hotkeys

Please make the hotkeys user definable. Modifying key-command mappings in a text file would be fine by me, no need for any integrated UI:s. The user would be responsible for not having multiple mappings for the same key. Even if the user would accidentally have multiple mappings these should not be ...

Undo/Redo states with info

It would be nice to have a text describing which action will be undone/redone in the menu like many programs now a days have. Sometimes you do an undo and wonder why the thing you expected didn't happen and you start wondering what it actually is that became undone somewhere else in the draft. The u...

Zoom Pan suggestion (and mouse usage suggestions)

Using the middle mouse button for Zoom Pan is not so good because you very easily scroll the wheel while trying to move around causing unwanted zooming in and out. So how about using the right mouse button while holding SHIFT (or CTRL) down instead? This way the right mouse button would still retain...
