Re: Exception occurred. Entity NOT saved: XYZ
CVH, I detected one as Text in the Property Editor, but then I loaded a drawing from months ago on a separate project, and paste failed completely. I therefore took the nuclear option reset my configuration as you suggested, and so far all is working correctly. Many thanks for your time and expertis...

Re: Exception occurred. Entity NOT saved: XYZ
When I use TH with the hex of the exception, e.g 8ef, all that is returned is e.g "object selected 235". I've tried for hours, and made no progress, so I'll start again tomorrow, and go through more of your suggestions. Thanks for the detailed help. Nick.

Re: Exception occurred. Entity NOT saved: XYZ
CVH, I've deleted as you suggested, but the corruption still occurs when Paste is selected. I tried a couple of times, and ended up by deleting another 144 duplicate entities and 145 zero length. In addition, one cannot select an entity with a left click until one has clicked select> rectangle and d...

Re: Exception occurred. Entity NOT saved: XYZ
Many thanks to CVH and Husky. I've been a QCad user for about ten years, but I only use a tiny subset of its facilities, so please bear with my ignorance. I used Bitmap export to produce this attachment. Is this how to send a drawing file? Normally I export to PDF. ~test corruptioon long vember doub...

Re: Exception occurred. Entity NOT saved: XYZ
Husky, many thanks for your help. I use 2D, but I Flattened, saved and reloaded multiple times, and deleted all copies but the corruption persists, except occasionally on different drawings when Copy with reference/Paste doesn't work at all. Saving and reloading doesn't change the issue. In the atta...

Re: making alignment marks on plywood
J-J, very soon I will be adding a French translation of the Build Manual to the free plans download. I can imagine paddling happily past Les Calanques.

Re: making alignment marks on plywood
Husky, many thanks for making such a detailed reply. I don’t know which shop will do the cutting. Your description has convinced me that I will simply use “DRAW > CIRCLE 1mm diameter, and deal with the leakage issue with glass and epoxy tabs on the inside of the plywood. I’m delighted that you admir...

Re: making alignment marks on plywood
Husky, thank you. I have no knowledge of engraving on QCAD, other than the search facility in "Help" stating ."Line fonts are also often used for engraving". I'd be grateful if you could point me in the right direction to place a 1mm diameter circle engraving or a single visible point on 3mm plywood...

Re: making alignment marks on plywood
jcolo, thanks for the idea, but there are no templates. It's all in my head and on Qcad. If necessary I can place a 1 mm diameter CNC drill hole at each point, but very small holes are notoriously tricky to seal against water. The film just parts, and the hole emerges. Yes, it's S & G: cnckayaks.com...

making alignment marks on plywood
Windows 10, Qcad 3.26.4 I am designing a kayak in England for a friend. The kayak will be transported by air in kit form, so the hull panels will have multiple joins. I need to make surface dots for placing pins into the 3 mm plywood for alignment with a thread during construction in the USA. How ca...

Re: Can circles round points be removed
Well found! I was relying on the Property Editor, which identified each item only as a point. I didn't think to zoom that far into a single point. Can you recommend the way ahead? Selection filter and delete all circles, hoping there aren't any circles which shouldn't be deleted, then start again wi...
