Conic sections: ellipse, parabola, hyperbola
Hello there, I suspect the subject line says it all. I suspect one has to use scripting. I have pro v.3.25 right now. Is that right? Can someone give my a short outline of what that entails? I've never scripted in QCad before, but I'm somewhat competent at ECMAScript. I'm not asking you to do my wor...

Re: Zooming using scroll wheel
Just to be clear, the question isn't about direction of scroll wheel effect. The question is whether the process of zooming recenters the screen to the zoom focal point, or leaves it where it is started on the screen (which QCad does).

Re: Linetyp not recognizable in Model Space
Yes, thanks, your comments and links were helpful. I was confused about the idea that all editing is done inside the "Model_space" block, but it's beginning to make sense. I'm going to catch up on my reading now, thanks for the help!

Re: Linetyp not recognizable in Model Space
Interesting! Since I already copied it into a new QCad-originated document, I don't need to work with that one any further (and risk other strange problems due to provenance of that document). I actually copied the drawing "into" the "Paper_space" block in the new file, I subsequently realized. Fran...

Hello from mid-Atlantic USA
My name's Keith, drawing is a very small periodic thing I do in the course of green building, bits & pieces of programming, and various other things. I am really liking QCad so far, there are a few things I need to sort out but I think it does everything I need... I'm really impressed at the work th...

Re: Linetyp not recognizable in Model Space
Ah! I now see that the batting line type doesn't work correctly in my original file, a dxf I created in a different program. If I copy all, and paste it in to a new file in QCad, it works. Even as I have it working in the new file, it doesn't in the old. This is after a couple restarts, and the curr...

Re: Zooming using scroll wheel
Interesting: I've used so many drawing programs I didn't immediately notice this. I just overcompensate, positioning the mouse such that scrolling brings my target in to the center. But I've used programs that do it the other way too. I've gotten so used to both I'm not sure I have a preference.

Re: Linetyp not recognizable in Model Space
Thank you. I don't think I missed that yesterday, and don't see how I did today. But that resolves it. Thanks! A bunch!

Re: Adding annotations with leaders
Thank you Andrew.
I just noticed that Model (Model Space) and Layout1 (Paper Space) blocks. I can't wrap my head around that... does that mean I can have a Layout2 etc and thereby have effectively more Paper Spaces?

Re: Linetyp not recognizable in Model Space
I've tried lineweight, confirmed that draft mode and screen-based linetypes, in print preview and in the model, and I have yet to see batting. Interestingly, when I edit layer properties to change linetype of my insulation layer to batting, the batting shows up properly in the linetype list: this wa...

Adding annotations with leaders
I need to annotate my detail drawings: I'm new to QCad, so I might be missing the obvious. If I use Leader lines & text, I have little control over arrow sizes. And I don't think text can include a background filled rectangle or anything, to block out extraneous background... The attached file shows...

Re: Linetyp not recognizable in Model Space
I understand from this post that I may only see batting linetypes in print preview, but I don't even see them there. Any clues as to what's going on? I've got a separate "insulation" layer, with linetype set to batting. I draw a line or circle or anything on it, set linetype to bylayer, and nothing ...
