Re: Agonizingly Slow Redraw

Is it possible for you to attach the drawing file in question ? I had to check on this. (I think I've run into this situation before, with this same data, but I don't remember where - maybe even here.) While the data is originally from the county, it has a lot of markings done by the survey firm th...

Including a "live" copy of an object

If this is possible, I suspect there's a term for it and I have no idea what it is. I'm doing plans of a deck to add to my barn, so I can easily haul things up to the deck with a simple hoist and move them into the loft. I have side and front elevations of just the deck for the specs. This includes ...

Agonizingly Slow Redraw

I'm using macOS, QCAD PRo 3.24.3.0 (3.24.3). I have a plat of my property that came from a survey firm I hired. I've added a Layout Block and two viewports so I can easily print out an overall view of my property with an insert (made from a 2nd viewport) showing a closeup of the area where I'm doing...

Re: Keeping Dimension Measurements the Same When Resizing Drawings

Thank you! I'm working in spurts - I get a day or two to work on my plans for our renovation projects and on things like this, then a while when I can't touch it, so I'll be working on this, but it'll be a while until I can finish it. I did try this form the command line and it worked fine. It's jus...

Re: Keeping Dimension Measurements the Same When Resizing Drawings

Just started looking at the JavaScript API and scripting information. Would it be possible to write a plugin that would let you store the desired order of Layouts in a project within the project file, then, when called, print them all in order (or use that same order to create a PDF document with al...

Re: Keeping Dimension Measurements the Same When Resizing Drawings

Is there any way to enlarge a drawing and keep the measurements the same? Yes, for example by using a viewport: https://qcad.org/en/tutorial-working-with-layout-blocks-and-viewports Wow! I had no idea this could be done at all! (Hey, when you're self-taught and most of your time with a program is o...

Re: Changing Font in Existing Dimension Objects

Thanks - this answered my next question, which I posted before I saw this here. (I thought it was worth opening a separate thread, since it was a different issue.) Thank you. is there a way to edit the numbers in these objects? Yes, enter whatever you want in the 'Label' property. That will supersed...

Keeping Dimension Measurements the Same When Resizing Drawings

This is a followup to my other recent question ( https://qcad.org/rsforum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=7322 ) Here is a drawing I did to scale: Screen Shot 2020-06-08 at 2.39.24 PM.png To get it to fit on my details page for when I submit it to the county's Plan Review, I needed to enlarge it so it was easy...

Re: Changing Font in Existing Dimension Objects

Thank you! I'll be doing that as soon as I can get back to my work.

For the record, in this case, I only want to change it for some of them - just the ones that are on drawings that I had to resize. I should have specified that in my question. Thank you for covering both cases!

Changing Font in Existing Dimension Objects [solved]

I hope I'm using the right terms here, if not, please correct me! I'm on macOS, using QCAD version 3.24.3.0 (3.24.3). I have made a number of measurements in several diagrams, but I've had to do some resizing so I could get detail drawings to print on the same page as some elevation views. (Otherwis...

Could you elaborate on this please? Why does this make it faster and do you mean you're running a specific script?

Re: How to create your own Layer Standards ...

Thank you!

I'm glad it's so easy. I figured it was, but before I did it, I just wanted to double-check. Sometimes it's real easy to miss some small detail that's not as obvious as you'd think.

Re: How to create your own Layer Standards ...

Yes - that is only available in Pro. Here is a brief description about that feature: http://www.qcad.org/doc/qcad/latest/reference/en/ Now that I'm looking into templates, I see this is a link to the manual, but the only place I find "template" is in "New from Template." (I really wish the manual H...
