[solved] Block Problems

I have been using QCAD for months without any problem with Blocks. Today I must have Fat Fingered something that started it. Any of my drawings, old or new, now have the same error. Rebooting QCAD make no difference. The Problem.... 1 - I create a Block (See attachment 1). 2 - I now attempt to inser...

Re: Converting .eps files

Hi Andrew, The EPS file I sent you is one of a group that was given to me. It is not one I want to get into QCAD, it was the first one I grabbed. The others are technical drawings of door & window hardware. However they all convert with the same error – no color. But I would like to attempt to get t...

Re: Converting .eps files

The .svg file is attached. When I try to attach the .eps file an error comes up saying the .eps file extension is invalid! .eps is one of the most common vector file types. Strange! This file opens correctly in many other programs. So I changed the extension to .dxf and it accepted it. . You will ha...

Re: Converting .eps files

Thanks Andrew. I tried 7 online and downloadable converters, converting to dxf, dwf, and svg formats. They all worked fine except that all of them dropped the color from the eps images. Any ideas? Considering that your response was time stamped at approx 5 AM I hope you are not in the eastern time z...

Converting .eps files

I need to get an .eps file into QCAD. I do not have Adobe, CorelDraw or any high end program. Converters such as EPS Viewer, Zamzar and IrfanView all read the .eps file great but none of them even write a vector file, only bitmaps. I need to get the file into QCAD so that I can modify it on a progra...

File Formats

Question #1 - How can I identify the protocol (R32, R27, R24, etc.) that was used to write a .dxf or .dwg file? Can I identify it in QCAD or if not is there a utility? Question #2 - I changed the default protocol under the Application References "Open/Save" to R32. I understand it is the default for...

Thanks. Believe it or not I looked under Application Preferences and just plain missed it.

Re: Save As Format

Sorry about that.

I am fairly new to QCAD but have used TurboCad much over the years.

I am using QCAD Pro 3.19.2.0 [64-bit] & W7 [64-bit].

I do not post here unless I have checked the Andrew Mustun book, the online help and this forum for an answer.

Save As Format

I am a new QCAD user but have previous CAD experience. I am using Ver. 3.19.2. I assume that R32 [2018] DXF is the latest format. However, when saving a file R27 [2013] DXF comes up as the default format and if I do not notice that and do not change it I am writing a file using an older standard. Wh...
